The light does the work, not the styling.
Tomás Berg learned leather in the ateliers of Florence before building a studio for heritage tanneries and DTC leather houses. His whole craft is the hide. He knows a phone snapshot makes a two-thousand-dollar bag look like a market copy, and that the fix is light discipline, not props. His key is a hard raking sidelight thrown low across the leather so the grain lifts into relief: full-grain pores, pebbled texture, the tight weave of saffiano, the soft nap of suede, each resolving under a light that skims rather than floods. He shoots on warm, honest surfaces that let the material speak: walnut plank, raw oak, travertine, linen, brushed brass.
